Bound for Success
In this simplified infographic, I show three ways to hand bind a book. Follow one colored dot to see the complete steps for that book.
This infographic illustrates and essentially shows the viewer how to bind three different kinds of books: softcover: perfect bound (red dot) and sewn signatures (yellow dot) and hardcover: sewn signatures (blue dot). The challenge was to make the infographic without word descriptions and to show all the tools so that the infographic was universal to any language.
By using the dots, I could show each step once, even if it was used in more than one process. This made the piece smaller using less ink, paper, and made it nonrepetitive.
